Damien Despinoy

Damien leads the market intelligence function of Energy Foundry, in charge of identifying early innovation trends, evaluating the market potential of investment opportunities and setting the Fund’s investment thesis. Passionate about pushing forward the energy transition and driving technological changes, Damien has over 15 years of experience in the global energy industry.

Prior to joining Energy Foundry, Damien was a strategy consultant for McKinsey, core practitioner of the Industrials practice in the Chicago office. He started his career with energy major Total working across continents and functions (Operations, Capital projects, Utilities and Material optimization, Supply chain management). During his time with Total, Damien led multiple initiatives to improve the company’s environmental footprint through efficient technology, processes and operations.

Damien leverages his business acumen with a deep knowledge of energy markets and technology to help Energy Foundry’s partners achieve their ultimate potential. He holds an MBA from Insead (France/Singapore), a MS in chemical engineering from IFP School (France) and a MS in chemistry from the Paris Institute of Technology (France).
